A vast and unforgiving universe. Little guys scattered across every reach of space. Their ultimate mission? Friendship!

The concept & inspiration for frends+frends is the healing power of friendship and self love. Despite being alone in this mostly?! uninhabited universe, these little guys search far and wide for other friends. Under every rock, nook and cranny, they seek new friends to cherish and hang out with. They are like plant spores, hitching rides on asteroids and solar winds to travel to trillions of unknown destinations!

Even if they don’t find any friends, they can multiply through mitosis in order to adapt to ever-changing environmental and planetary conditions. Thanks to this ability, they are thankfully not so lonely and love hanging out with each other across the stars!

Will the frends arrive on earth someday? Only time will tell!

The project is intended as a toy design project. Most of my ideation usually starts in my sketchbook > then built and fleshed out in 3D > then 3D printed prototypes. I have been using Nomad Sculpt and Blender my 3D work. The goal is to eventually scale the project into a manufacturing pipeline so the frends can be friends with everyone across the world!

(In progress!) I hesitate to post WIP projects usually but the nature of the project itself inspired me to share it with the world as the project changes and grows. The frends are ever evolving, like friendship and even art itself!
